A fan is a device with wings or an impeller that rotates by means of an electric motor. Upon the rotation of the wings or impeller, air is set in motion. The rotation causes the mechanical work to be transferred to the air.
A fan coil is used to heat or cool down air in many different types of locations, for example; in production areas in the food industry, warehouses, offices, supermarkets, etc.Since it does not have any ductwork, a fan coil unit is used to control the temperature only in the space where it is installed.
A fieldbus is the information highway that connects the components in a BMS system to allow monitoring and controlling of air-conditioning systems, heating systems, lighting systems, ventilation, wastewater systems etc.
Fin spacing is the distance between fins which are used on fan coils, air coolers, dry coolers, evaporators and condensers. Increasing or decreasing fin spacing has a major impact on the coil performance.
Fire extinguishing systems
Fire extinguishing systems are a common expression for systems using different medias to suppress- or extinguish fires in buildings. The medias can be water, foam, gas or chemicals.
Fire hazard classification
The hazard class (LH, OH, HH) to which sprinkler system is to be designed, will determine the characteristics of the fire sprinkler installation in regards of specification of water supply, number of fire pumps, number of sprinklers etc.
Fire protection component standard
A fire component standard is a document with mandatory provisions to indicate requirements and testing methods for components or materials to be used within the fire protection system installation.
Fire Protection Standard
A fire protection standard is a document with mandatory provisions to indicate requirements for planning, installation and maintenance of fire extinguishing systems (such as sprinkler systems, water mist -, gas – and foam systems). Overall requirements demanded from the components, such as performance, specifications and listings, is to some degree included.
